The Great Pumpkin Patch

The other weekend we took Lilly on her first adventure to The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur, IL. It was a beautiful day for wandering the grounds, looking at animals, eating ice cream sandwiches, and looking at every type of cucurbit imaginable!

7 Months Old!

Lilly is now sitting pretty good on her own and she's able to stand with some assistance. She's now eating solids twice a day and seems to really like food.

Lilly has taken great interest in Jinx. She watches her every time she's around and giggles and smiles at Jinx all the time. She's still learning how to pet Jinx nicely and not just pull her fur. She's getting better. She also really likes trying to catch Jinx's tail. Lilly wants to be best friends with Jinx but I don't think Jinx feels the same way right now. Maybe some day they'll be best friends!

Six months old!

Lilly turned six months old on Thursday! She's beginning to get the hang of sitting on her own and we know that she really wants to move around the house and have seen some coordinated movements for crawling but she hasn't put all the steps together. There is a solid chance she'll walk before she crawls. She is getting better at holding her weight with her legs for a second or two.

Jinx and Lilly have now moved on from their mutual apathy, Lilly is very interested in her and watches her walk around. She reaches for her anytime she is close but Jinx seems to know what her reach is and stays just far enough away. Jinx is also increasingly interested in Lilly and sniffs her fingers and toes more than she ever used to.

On top of all that we get to start feeding her solid food! Today we fed Lilly her first "solid" food of Sweet potato puree mixed with breast milk. Lilly was thoroughly underwhelmed with it. I wanted her first food to be something exciting but I guess we have to start with simple things.

Smokey Bear Giveaway!

I like to sign up for giveaways. When we were in Washburn a few weeks ago I signed Lilly up to win a Smokey Bear Prize, and...She won! We got her prize in the mail this week, I think Lilly is going to like playing with Smokey.

St. Louis Weekend

We went to St. Louis the other weekend to visit our good friends Matt and Amanda. We had a great time going to the zoo, the art museum, an elk and bison park, and catching up.

These monkey's were really fun to watch. Lilly wasn't very excited about them.
