Lilly and Turtle at 3 Months

This month has been an exciting month for Lilly. She smiles a lot and she seems to be smiling at us and our voices. That's exciting for Tony and I because I think she finally knows us! She has found her hands and loves putting them in her mouth. She started out with just her right hand, but she has discovered her left hand as well so now they both go in her mouth. She's trying really hard to get them both to fit but her mouth just doesn't seem big enough yet. Along with sucking on her hands a bunch comes a lot of spit. She is really good at blowing bubbles and has begun drooling a lot. The spots that are on Tony and my shoulders can most likely be dried spit.

She is looking at objects now. She has a mobile above her Mamaroo that she stared at for a couple of days. After giving it a good stare down, she finally reached up and touched it. Now she touches it and knocks it around all the time. She started out touching it with just her right hand and after a couple of days she used her left hand.

She has turned into a little chatterbox. She makes fun noises all the time and loves to tell us stories. When she gets really excited she squeals and kicks her legs really fast. It's pretty cute!

She loves being outside. She seems happiest when we are outside and she is sitting in our arms looking out at the world. The first few times we brought her outside she didn't like when wind would blow in her face but now she loves it. The other day was a windy day and she smiled and giggled every time the wind would blow on her face.

Probably one of the most exciting changes has been she is sleeping through the night!! We put her to bed around 8:00 and she sleeps until 6:00 or 7:00. I hear her wake up sometimes at night but she usually makes a few noises and then falls back to sleep.

With this 3 month milestone comes another change. Three months means I have had to go back to work which means Lilly has started daycare. Yesterday was Lilly's first day at daycare and my first day back to work. I cried dropping her off, my whole drive to work, and a few times during my work day. When I picked her up at the end of the day they said she did great. I think her day was much better than mine. Every day when we pick her up they provide us with a report card that tells us what time she ate and how much, what time her diaper was changed and whether it was wet or poopy, and what time she took a nap and when she woke up. Today's card said that she painted a sun with her feet! I haven't seen the picture yet but I saw the evidence of paint on her little toes. I'm excited that she is getting to do activities like that. I think that she's going to do great at daycare and I'm sure she'll make lots of new friends. I'm hoping in another week it will get easier for me to drop her off.
